The new era of the James Gunn and Peter Safran-led DCU shines brighter each day passing as news and rumors emerge on the internet that do nothing but ignite the excitement of the fans of the universe. In January, ‘Supergirl: Woman Of Tomorrow’ starring Milly Alcock, went into production in the United Kingdom. The DC Studios’ show ‘Lanterns’ starring Aaron Pierre and Kyle Chandler went into production a few days ago as well. There are also several other projects rumored to go into production later this year. So DC fans need not worry about the DC content that will be coming in the next few years. It is not wrong to say DC fans are prepared to feast on the projects they mapped out in the first chapter of ‘Gods & Monsters’.
However, people are a bit disappointed about what happened during the Puppy Bowl, which was said to be an event where we were supposed to get a Sneak Peek at James Gunn’s ‘Superman’, something that didn’t happen eventually.

A few days ago, there was a promotional advertisement for ‘Superman’ that featured American former NBA player and sports analyst Shaquille O’Neal, which was kind of fun to watch, where we got a detailed look at David Corenswet’s Superman suit. James Gunn also joined both of them in the promo and introduced Shaq to David and vice versa. The heartfelt moment of the promo was that iconic ‘Superman’ theme we hear the moment James introduces David to Shaq as Superman, where David poses as Superman matching the poster art of the movie.
David Corenswet recently got into a conversation with GQ Italia, where he revealed that “Playing Superman was the most challenging role of my career for its scope and physical demands’, he confessed to them, also because it is a character who is both a superhero and an ordinary man, ‘two sides of the same person, a dichotomy dictated by circumstances, the environment and the secret.”
“When asked what it was like to work on such a highly anticipated film, how he handled the pressure, and how he faced the expectations of the public, the answer is that of a professional with a capital P: ‘I focus on doing my best for the director, the crew and my colleagues who have worked at the top of their abilities for months or years. If I do well for them, I think I’ve done everything possible,” he confessed to GQ Italia.
James Gunn’s ‘Superman’ marks the actual start of the new DC era; it releases in theaters on July 11. Whereas ‘Supergirl: Woman Of Tomorrow’ on June 26, 2026. ‘Lanterns’ is said to stream on HBO Max before ‘Supergirl Woman Of Tomorrow’.
