The new DCU just kicks off in less than 2 days with the first show being Creature Commandos, an animated show written by DC Studios Co-Ceo James Gunn himself. A new era rises, and an old long-running era, close to everyone’s heart, sets with the finale of Superman & Lois, a CW original show. The fourth and final season of the show started back in October and is set to conclude in December 2024.
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Superman & Lois star Tyler Hoechlin broached the subject of saying goodbye to the fantastic, fans’ beloved series by welcoming James Gunn’s new DCU. During this conversation, Tyler revealed that James Gunn’s Superman star, David Corenswet, wrote him a letter when they were wrapping up the production of season 4.
Hoechlin further said to The Hollywood Reporter: I, again, very honored and privileged to have been a part of this and super happy to pass it off to David. I’m sure he’s gonna do a great job. He actually did a really nice letter as we were wrapping up, so that was really lovely of him to do. But yeah, I wish him the best, and I have no doubt that they are gonna do great.
Superman & Lois initially premiered on February 23, 2021, on the CW network. The show instantly dominated the charts and became one of the best CW shows. What makes this a special show is its blending of a superhero theme with that of the family drama, by combining Clark’s life with Superman’s responsibilities, and then it turns out to be a family drama show with good superhero action.
