The storm of James Gunn’s Superman teaser trailer didn’t even calm down, we see another major news from DC Studios. ‘Supergirl: Woman Of Tomorrow’ will come out as the next major entry in the new era of DCU presided over by DC Studios’ Co-Head James Gunn. It’s been over a year since James Gunn announced that Milly Alcock (House Of The Dragon star) will serve as the new Supergirl of the DCU. Later Deadline reported that Belgian Actor Matthias Schoenearts is set to play the villain — Krem Of The Yellow Hills
in ‘Supergirl: Woman Of Tomorrow’ alongside Milly Alcock. A few months back, James confirmed that Eve Ridley would play the role of Supergirl companion, Ruthye.

Yesterday, Jason Momoa confirmed his casting in the DCU but not as Aquaman, this role was gone along with the fall of DCEU. During a press event with Fandango, he expressed his willingness for the character to play in DC, which is none other than Lobo.

“I collect comics, and I don’t do so much anymore, but he was always my favorite, and I always wanted to play Lobo, because I’m like, ‘Hello? It’s the perfect role,” he said in the interview. “I mean, listen. If they call and ask me to play him, it’s a fuck yeah. I haven’t received that call, so I don’t want to put any fake news out there, but if they ever call me and ask me to play, or ask me to audition, I’m there.” Jason captioned the post, writing, “They called.”

Who is Lobo?

Lobo

Lobo, also known as Lobo: The Czarnian is an antihero and a bounty hunter in the DC universe, known for his sassy and impious behavior towards others. He loves over-the-top violence. He always keeps his word, no matter what. He is infamous for his love of cigars and alcohol.

When James Gunn & Peter Safran mapped out their plan for the long-running DCU first chapter — Gods & Monsters — they never knew that ‘Supergirl: Woman Of Tomorrow’ would come this early in the slate unless “Ana Nogueria wrote an incredible script,” stated by James Gunn. Craig Gillespie will help the project who has previously directed critically acclaimed movies, e.g., ‘Cruella’ & ‘I, Tonya’. ‘Supergirl: Woman Of Tomorrow’ takes flight in theaters on June 26, 2026.
